3 Christmas Tags with Amanda

October 22, 2019

Hey Roadie friends!!

It’s Amanda Fitterer here with 3 easy DIY Christmas tags!  I made these tags without using any dies!  Keep reading to see how I made them!  For these tags, I used the Fleece Navidad and Happy Holla Days stamp sets from Ink Road.

Although I do own some tag dies, I wanted to show you that you can easily make your own tags using a paper cutter and a hole punch!

The first step is to cut a piece of cardstock down to 4.25″ x 2.75″.  Make pencil marks at the .75″ marks on the left and right sides of the cardstock.  Then, make marks at the 1″ and 1.75″ on the bottom.  (See photo below).

Once you’ve made your marks, line up your cardstock on your paper cutter.  You want to cut at one of the .75″ marks and the 1.75″ mark.  Then cut again at the other .75″ mark to the 1″ mark.

Now, use a hole punch in the center of the tag.  Note:  I just eyeballed mine, but you could measure to get it perfectly centered.

So, now that we have our 3 tags ready to go…

Let’s start with the 2 Happy Holla Days tags!

I started by stamping some snowflakes around the edge of the tag.  I used a piece of masking tape to create a rectangle border.  I used my anti-static tool and my Versamark Watermark stamp pad.  I used white embossing powder and then heat set it with my heat gun.

I used Abandoned Coral and Black Soot distress inks and oxides to blend the background.  Note:  Use a paper towel to wipe off the embossed images after blending the background.

I stamped my hip Santa and colored him in using my Copic markers.  Hat/Suit: R27, R29, R59.  Face: E00, R21.  Beard/Hat: T0, T1, T2.  Pipe: E23, E25, E27.  White highlights: Gelly Roll pen.

I fussy cut Santa out.  Then, I used my Versamark Watermark stamp pad, anit-static tool, and white embossing powder to stamp my sentiment on black cardstock.  I heat embossed it with my heat tool. (Not pictured) I stamped some snowflakes in black ink behind where my Santa will go.

I cut my sentiment down to size and then used 3D foam tape to adhere it (and Santa) to my tag.

I glued a few Valerie Ice gems down to finish the tag off!

The next tag uses the same Happy Holla Days stamp set.

I stamped my Santas and snowflakes all over the tag.

Using my Copic markers, I colored in the Santas.

Using the same process as the previous tag, I stamped and embossed my sentiment.

I used scissors to cut it into a “ribbon” shape.  I used 3D foam tape to adhere it to my tag.

Next is the Fleece Navidad tag!

I stamped my image and then colored it in using Copic colors R29, T0, T1, and T2.  I placed a Valerie Ice gem in my star for a little sparkle!

Using a red colored pencil and a ruler, a staggered a few lines around the border of the tag.

I used different combinations of ribbons and twine for each tag.

Here’s the photo of all 3 tags again:

Thanks so much for stopping by!

XOXO, Amanda
