I’m back again bringing you a simple card using the amazing Holly Pixels Art Supplies Background Stamp set.
Since this set is all art supplies I wanted the card to have an artsier look to it. I decided to break out the watercolors and get to work!
If you decide that you would like to follow suit and use water colors it is imperative that you use a water color paper. Unfortunately card stock is just not meant to hold water make sure that you take this into consideration when choosing your card base. Which means that many of the “watercolor” effects may not show up as effectively. Having that said, as always… Have fun! Start off by stamping out two different sets of the background stamp. You then want to start by watercoloring one of the images. Focus on either the art supplies or the background for your first piece.
Watercolor is probably my favorite media. It can however be pretty finicky. You want to practice first with your materials. Watercolors can react differently on different surfaces. Also make sure that you are using an ink that is not water reactive. Archival inks and amalgam inks work great with watercolor.
Once you have completed both images begin cutting out the art supplies. Apply double sided tape to the backs of the art supplies and place them right over the art supplies on the completed background image. Now you can add your sentiment and embellishments.
Once you have this complete… it looks like you’ve got yourself a card! If you have made it this far you deserve a prize! Enter Oliver10 at checkout and save 10%!
