Hey Roadies, Ashlea here! November is here and I am in full blown Fall mode. The air is cool and crisp and I am prepared to milk every single moment of it. I’ve compiled all of my favorite things about fall onto one card that I’d love to share with you today.
I stamped all of these images from the PSL set and the exclusive Hedgehog Hollow stamp set onto a piece of 80lb white card stock and colored them all in with comic markers. For the PSL mug, I used Distress Oxide in Antique Linen so that I could use a no-line coloring technique as I knew this would be my focal image in the group. I then fussy cut all of the images out and set them aside until I was ready to arrange them.
For the background, I used a very diluted black watercolor to create a grey watercolor shade on a piece of 4″ x 5 1/4″ Canson watercolor paper. Once that dried, I used a bronze metallic watercolor for splatter and a dense black watercolor also for splatter. I love the artsy look watercolor splatter gives to a handmade card and I often use it when watercoloring on my cards. I arranged my cut out images and adhered all of them with glue except for the mug which is adhered with foam tape to add dimension. I decided to ground the images a bit by creating the shadow just beneath them.
I decided on the sentiment “I love fall best of all” and embossed it in white on a strip of black card stock. I adhered it all to an A2 sized card base in Toned Tan card stock. I love the way the tan color on the base pulls everything together on the card. I finished it all off by adding a few Nuvo crystal drops in Copper Penny to bring in some shine.
