Hi Roadies! I’m feeling the love this New Year so I’m back with another Valentine’s Day project to share with ya’ll! For today’s card I used the Block Party Alpha Outline to create this design. This set so versatile(because you can spell anything!) and I love that you can color in the letters!
I started off with white card stock cut to 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″. I added some texture by running it through my die cutting platform using a polka dot embossing folder and the recommended sandwich for my machine.
I die cut three scalloped hearts using red card stock and prepped them for heat embossing using anti-static powder. I stamped the X and O from the Block Party Alpha Outline using clear embossing ink and then sprinkled on silver glitter embossing powder. I tapped off the excess powder and then melted the powder with my heat tool. Two of the hearts are very small so I used tweezers to hold them while heat setting to avoid burning my fingers.
I waited a few seconds for the embossing to cool, then I gently wiped off any remaining anti-static powder using a dry cloth. Next I colored in the x’s and o’s using a white gel pen.
I cut a matte for my embossed panel using red card stock cut at 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ and adhered it all onto a white A2 sized card base.
I decided to add a companion sentiment from the Modern Romance set onto my card. I couldn’t decide between black or grey card stock, so I heat embossed on both using white embossing powder. In the end I used the grey.
Now the fun part, put it all together! I popped up the hearts and sentiment using foam circles for a bit of dimension and arranged them on my card panel.
I finished off the inside of the card by stamping the x’s and o’s from the Alpha Block Party Outline using red ink. Next I stamped a couple of sentiments from the Modern Romance set. I stamped one using black ink then Happy Valentine’s Day underneath it in red ink. That finishes off this card, until next time! Xoxo-Lorena
