Hello Roadies! Today I have an Eggstra special card to share. This card was so fun to make and I really enjoyed blinging up the center focal point egg. I used the Eggstra stamp set, Shelley Bows, and Denise Pink gems.
I started by stamping the egg outline from the set onto white card stock cut to 4″ x 5.25″. I stamped using a cream colored ink since I wanted it to be subtle background.
Next I prepped some white card stock with anti-static powder and stamped one of the eggs twice using clear embossing ink. I covered the stamped images with fine detail gold embossing powder. I used a small dry brush to remove any embossing powder from unwanted areas before heat setting.
I used one for the floral dies from the Bella Flora die set to cut out some vellum flowers. I wanted these as a backdrop to anchor my special egg onto.
I matted down my stamped egg background onto some gold glitter cardstock. I glued my vellum flowers in the center of my card panel using matte adhesive.
I mounted my special egg in the center of my card using foam tape. Next I added some pink and purple sparkle using the large flat gems in Denise Pink.
Now to work on my sentiment. I used the same color makers I used to color in the egg to make matching cardstock to use for my sentiment. I made sure to dry the cardstock using my heat tool before embossing on it. Once it was dry I prepped it with anti-static and stamped using the same fine detail gold.
I cut down my sentiment and matted it onto the same gold glitter cardstock I used on the border panel. I had to add one more finishing touch to the egg with a hot pink Shelley Bow.
For the inside of the card I stamped the egg outline and sentiment using the same cream ink color from my background. I glued down the other embossed egg and added a strip of glitter cardstock on the bottom.
And that finishes off this “eggsquisite” card! Thanks for stopping by, Roadies! See ya next time! -Lorena
