Hello Roadies! I’m on the blog today sharing a card with partial die cutting. I learned this technique watching Jennifer McGuire. You can do this with any shape die and stamp from your stash. I used the adorable Lucy-Happy Mail stamp set, Mari Pink pearls, and Tyler Blue gems.
To start off I stamped my image on a scrap of white cardstock. I stamped it using an alcohol marker friendly ink.
I colored in the image to match the pink from the patterned paper I picked for my card. Once my coloring was all done I moved onto the partial die cutting. You can do this with any shape die and stamp from your stash. Here is the video link to watch how to do the partial die cutting. I always have an easier time understanding something after I watch someone do it. Here is the video link.
Once the partial die cutting was done I used my scissors to fussy cut around my stamped image. I left a thin white border around the edge. I stamped my sentiment in the middle along with one of the images and colored it in to match my patterned paper.
I cut my patterned paper down to 4″ x 5.25″ and added a 1/8″ black matte before adding it onto a white A2 sized card base. I added foam tape to my partially die cut panel and adhered it in the center of my card. I added some blue twine and glossy accents to the paper clip. To finish it off I sprinkled in the Mari Pink half beads with the Tyler Blue gems.
That is it for today, Roadies! As always, I thank you for stopping by. I hope you try this partial die cutting technique on a future card. Hugs-Lorena
