Hey Roadies! Today I’m sharing a card that features some masking and ink blending. I used the Subway Art: Fairytale background and Inked Girl Janine on this card. Inked Girl Janine is retired at the moment but Lara always brings back a poll for retired Inked Girls to make a comeback. Head over to the Roadies Facebook group so be on the lookout for the poll if you missed out on her.
To start off I cut a scrap piece of cardstock to 4.25″ x 5.5″. I die cut out a circle in the middle, towards the top. Next, I centered it covering the front of a white A2 sized card base. I taped it down using some masking tape.
Ready for ink blending! I added a bit of color using a light ink and a blending brush. I made sure it was a light blend, you don’t want too much color since we will be stamping over this.
I inked up the Fairytale Background stamp using a darker ink and stamped it down onto the circle cut out. I decided not to use a stamping block and instead ran my fingers and hand down the back of the stamp.
Peel away the tape and cardstock and reveal the masked magic! I stamped Inked Girl Janine using alcohol marker friendly ink and colored her in using my Spectrum Noir makers. I kept the rest simple by stamping my sentiment directly onto the base using black ink.
I stamped another image from the Janine set on the inside of the card using the same ink I used to stamp the background.
A sprinkling of sequins finishes off this card. Hope you enjoyed, see ya next time!-Lorena
