Hello Roadies! I have a pair of bright fruit cards made with This Stamp is Bananas. I used embossing over vellum for todays design and I love the pop it adds to these cards.
I started off with some colored cardstock and some vellum. In the end I only used the red and yellow cardstock.
I prepped my vellum pieces using anti-static powder and stamped the strawberry from the set using clear embossing ink. I made sure to stamp all around the edges of the vellum to give me a good border. The strawberries will hide the foam tape I’ll use to adhere it to my panel.
I sprinkled white embossing powder over my stamping and tapped off the excess. You can always use a small dry brush to brush off any unwanted powder. When heat setting the vellum keep the heat gun moving to avoid warping the vellum. The powder melts a lot faster on vellum versus cardstock.
I stamped a strawberry onto white cardstock using red and green ink then fussy cut it out leaving a thin white border.
I placed foam tape behind the strawberries making sure all the edges had tape on them.
Put all the pieces together! I took a red piece of cardstock cut to 4″ x 5″ and ran it through my die cutting machine using a polka dot embossing folder. I glued that down onto a white A2 sized card base then added my heat embossed vellum piece in the center. I heat embossed a small sentiment on red cardstock with white embossing powder. I popped up the colored strawberry and sentiment with foam tape. I sprinkled in some Ant Max Red gems and Flat Back Bubbles.
For the lemon card I stamped the lemon using yellow ink onto light yellow cardstock for a tone on tone look. I repeated the heat embossing on the vellum using the lemon stamp.
I cut the yellow panel down to 4″ x 5.25″ and glued it down onto a white A2 sized card base. I adhered the vellum panel down flat on on this card. I did that by concealing the liquid glue behind the stamped lemons. I sprinkled in some gems in Crystal Sunshine and some more Flat Back Bubbles.
That finishes up these fruit cards! I really love the pop the white embossing powder adds. I hope ya’ll try this technique and be sure to tag me in your creations!
