This week I am brining you a card that is inspired by Parks and Rec. Which is one of my favorite television shows! I am happy to use the stamp set Snarks and Recreation! So queue up your favorite episode, break out the waffles and lets get to stamping!
Ok so I must warn you this is a masking card. Masking requires you to cover up a portion of the image, so that you will not create a double image. You can create a mask by stamping on a sticky note. Make sure it is near the sticky section so that the image will adhere to the surface that you are stamping on. So as you stamp cover the previous image with the mask and you will get a over lapping effect. You can continue using the waffle stamp until the card front is covered.
It is important to realize that the ink you stamp with and paper you use dictates the medium you chose to color with. I used card stock and dye ink. For this card I used a dye ink and because of this I decided to use color pencils to color my images of waffles. Alcohol markers tend to erase dye ink and card stock does not do great with water. Take time with your coloring and have fun!
Remember to stamp a few extra waffles to add in the end. OK, now that you have the card front all cut out we can get to cutting! You can now cut out the center of the waffle card front to allow the main image to be seen. Then cut out the circles for the main image. I cut two circles one large enough for the image and sentiments and one slightly larger to create a frame. Then you can stamp and emboss your main focal image to the center of the smallest circle. Now we are in the home stretch!
You can Attach some breakfast themed patterned paper to the card base then start layering your elements. First you want to attach the waffle front with foam tape to the card base. Then you can attach the circle with the main image to the center of the circle. Finally add your extra waffles and embellishments. I used the Flat Back Half Beads- Rachel Black pearls smallest size. Now you can stand back and admire your work!
