A Very Basic Holiday

December 25, 2020

Merry Christmas Roadies! Today, I have a simple one layer project (surprise surprise) using Holiday Basics combined with Tiny Dot Clusters and Fir Real.

To start, I stamped “Happy Holidays” in the middle of my white card base in pink ink. Sprinkled embossing powder on top and heat set it in. Then used Tiny Dot Cluster for my snowy scene using clear embossing ink and powder. I heat set after each time I stamped and rotated the clusters.

Then for the bottom part of my card, I took a few trees from Fir Real and filled the landscape as best as I could. Again, using clear embossing ink and powder and heat setting in between each one.

Now, the cool part, Ink blending! I used about 3 shades of blue for the top and 2 shades of green for the bottom. Once that was all said and done, I wiped off any excess ink with a cloth wipe and ta daaah! Emboss resist.

Emboss Resist Technique

There you have it Roadies. Heat embossing scares me but I had a great time trying this technique out for the holidays. What’s your favorite technique? Head over to the shop and pick up Holiday Basics and others using MAGALY10 at checkout to save some coin.
