Hello space cadets! Today I am bringing you a high tech card inspired by one of my favorite movies of all time! Can you guess what it is? I also wanted to really high ten the specialness of this card so I decided to us the EZ Light By Pear blossom Press. If any of you are fellow pop culture fans like I am, grab your Eggstra stamp set and lets get stamping!
This is another multiple layered cards. Let’s start with the stamp layers. I used the Eggstra large egg stamp on a piece of cracked leather cardstock. I then I used an embossing pen to fill in the egg. Afterwards I embossed the egg with green and brown embossing powder. I layered it on pretty thick so that it would create more texture on top of the egg. With a black marker I then outlined the creature from the movie to give the appearance of a sinister creature inside.
Once you have the egg complete you can move on to the green background. I used the brightest yellow and green I could find. Using a blending brush start with the yellow in the center and then work your way outwards. Then with the green ink start on the edges and then work your way inward. You want to leve the center at it‘s most saturated. This way the yellow looks the brightest. Just to add a little interest I added some black stripes with a Stencil.
Then with stencil to add texture I embossed a second piece of paper in black. I then cut out a circle in the center so that the egg could shine through. Now we are ready for assembly! Ah I almost forgot to tell you to stamp out those letters using both Block Party Alpha and Block Party Alpha Outlines!
First you need to cut a hole in the green background so that you can place the EZ light. If you would like to know how to install the EZ light you can refer to my earlier blogs post here. You can then lay down the green background and attach the egg on top to hide the electronics. Then with lots of foam tape attach that black leather textured piece.
You can then attach the sentiment and embellish generously! I used the intergalactic looking Flat Back Half Beards- Rachel Black Pearl and Flatback Half Beads- Stephanie Onyx. Then up I can sit back in the dark and remember in the craft room no one can hear you scream!!!
