Kimberly Wiener with you today. I am finding Ink Road stamps are a HOT commodity! You guys are going crazy over them. You are making it hard for me to collect….lol. Oh boy, so WORTH the wait. For todays design I really wanted to showcase the lovely script sentiment from the “As You Wish” stamp set in the most recent release bundle. This stamp set is totally witty, quirky, and wonderful. It brings me back to the 1980’s when I saw Princess Bride on the big screen and it quickly became a favorite.
The flourish and elegance of the sentiment demands to be a focal point. Using gold embossing and layering the Bun Intended and the Flora Bella together add an opulence that will be accentuated with the brocade embossing effects that frame the outer portion of the card.
Small touches of black enamel were sparingly placed to bring black into the focal image to add another type of texture as well as shine .
Shimmer Brocade Effect: To achieve this rich shimmery brocade effect I sponged the panel with Ranger Distress Oxides in Peacock Feathers and sponged here and there some Cracked Pistachio. Once completely dry, I use the embossing “buddy” to ensure the embossing will be crisp. I used “Pearl” in the Ranger’s Perfect Pearls pigment powders, although there are many other lovely colors that also have a shimmer to them. The embossing layer process is as follows:
- Apply Ranger’s “Sticky” embossing powder over Versamark embossing inked images.
- Heat treat the panel.
- Brush on and then off Ranger’s Perfect Pearls.
- Heat set to finish.
