Beach Girls by Becca

Hi Roadies! I am so excited for my first blog post as a a part of the Ink Road Stamps design team! I am hanging on to every last bit of Summer, so today I am sharing two cards I made using the April 2019 INKED. Girl Claire. Why 2 cards? Because the sentiments in this set are so great I couldn’t pick just one! Keep in mind that INKED. Girls are limited edition, one released for each month. As I am writing this blog post Claire is still in stock, but grab her fast because she won’t be around forever.

For the background of these cards I started with a loose Distress Oxide watercolor with the colors tumbled glass and broken china. For the stripe accents on the sides of the cards, I repeatedly stamped the wave image from Between the Lines, and adhered it on top of the watercolor with a thin black card stock border.

For the focal image I stamped the main image from INKED. Girl Claire onto bristol smooth paper with waterproof ink. I colored both images using Arteza real brush pens and blended the color with water and a paint brush.

Arteza real brush pen colors used for “The beach is going to take whatever body I give it” card:

Skin: Ginger, Pale Skin

Hair: Chocolate, Autumn Red, Orange Rust

Clothes and raft: Teal, Spearmint, Fuchsia, Blush Pink, Bumblebee Yellow, Lemon Yellow, Orchid Purple, Lavender

Arteza real brush pen colors used for “Beach Please” card:

Skin: Tawny, Ginger

Hair: Noir, Coffee, Tawny

Clothes and raft: Ginger, Pale Skin, Teal, Spearmint, Fuchsia, Blush Pink, Bumblebee Yellow, Lemon Yellow

To finish off the cards I fussy cut the Claire images and popped them up onto foam tape for dimension. I white heat embossed the sentiments on to black strips of card stock and popped those up as well. To embellish the cards I used Gina Flat Back Half Beads. These look just like water droplets to me, which I think are the perfect way to finish off these beachy cards.

I hope you all had a wonderful summer and enjoy soaking up these last few weeks of sunshine before we jump into fall.
