Bear & Rabbit: A Little Motivation with Carol

November 11, 2020

Hi all! Carol here with another crafty project, this time featuring “Bear & Rabbit” from the latest release. Forest critters are my absolute favorite, and even though this card does not have any swear words, I think cute critters make sweary cards that much better.

Before I jump in, I always like to share reminders like: how awesome the Roadies Facebook group is, and how you can save 10% on your order when you use my code: CAROL10 , at checkout. But enough about me! Let’s get into what you really came here for:

For this card, I used one die, three stamp sets, heat embossing, copic markers, and pink distress inks.

I started with the bunny. I stamped it out with black, copic friendly ink and used — you guessed it– copic markers to color in his body. I have no idea how to color animals, so I mainly focused on shaded areas, and then filled in the rest. For the belly, I wanted it to be offset, to create more texture. So I used two shades of brown for the belly.

Next, I heat embossed the background using Daisy Background Stamp. Since the stamp doesn’t fully cover an A2 panel, without repeat stamping, I decided to just trim down the panel. Although you can see where the “seam” is, I kinda like the look. Plus, you can’t even tell in person, with all the blending done.

Lastly, I heat embossed the sentiment on black paper, and adhered it with foam tape. BEFORE (this time) I adhered the panel, I rounded the corners to both panel and card base, just for an added layer of softness.

All in all, I love this card. I think it is definitely a “Step up” for me. I removed my comfort zone, and just went “in” on the card making for this one. I kinda dig it.

What are you excited for, for this release? Let me know below and stay tuned for my next project!
