Hello stampers, Ali here! I hope everyone is enjoying fall as much as I am, we are even getting cool weather in Texas, believe it or not! One of my favorite fall things to do with my kids is paint pumpkins, and the Beautiful Mess stamps were perfect for documenting this fun fall tradition! I used some fun techniques for this layout to really help those stamps stand out!
I started with a pumpkin shape that I cut on my cameo, but this could easily be done by hand. I taped my die cut down to my background paper to hold it in place, but not to be permanent. Then I got to stamping! I started around the pumpkin stem and just went willy-nilly with the paintbrush stamps, being sure to get some of them lower than others for a really random look. I really wanted the pumpkin to serve as a vessel for the paintbrushes! After I stamped I had so much fun adding water colors to each brush and a bit of splatter here and there. I also went around my pumpkin die cut to give me the basic pumpkin shape.
After water coloring, I went through with a black pen and more stamps to give the shape more definition and a more artistic feel. The zig-zags and lines were perfect for adding finishing touches to the artistic layout! I really wanted the Beautiful Mess stamps to be the star of this show, so I did very little embellishing, using the stamps as embellishments along the border and on my leaf cut file. “Go Make a Mess” was a perfect sentiment for this layout, making a simple and fitting title!
Hope you all find time to enjoy and go make a mess!
