Hello Roadies! Today I am sharing one of my favorite kinds of cards to make…stitched cards! They are a labor of love, and I find the stitching very relaxing. I paired some rainbow stitching with #beautifulmess stamp set for a card that would be perfect for a fellow creator.
I started this card with the stitching and designed it from there. Since here in the crafty and card making world lots of you share my love for things in rainbow order, I thought I would throw in a picture of my stitching supplies because they make me happy!
After I had the stitching completed in a rainbow V pattern I thought a heart shape would go great on top of it. I stamped the Create in Love image from #beautifulmess onto cardstock with a light no line ink. I shaded it with copic markers in C3, C2, and blended it out to white with the colorless blender. After coloring I restamped the image (by leaving the stamp in my stamp positioner) on top with Versafine onyx black ink and clear heat embossed for a shiny raised line. I colored before heat embossing because alcohol markers have the chance of eating away at embossing powder and ruining the tips of your markers.
For the background I wanted a subtle design that coordinated with the card’s theme. I white heat embossed the art supply images from the same #beautifulmess stamp set onto a light grey cardstock. Once I layered everything together it needed a little extra something, so I embellished with Donna Pearls.
Thanks so much for joining me again on The Ink Road blog, I hope this card inspired you to create!
