Hi everyone! I’m here to showcase the beautiful Bella Flora border stamps again this week. When I created these 12×12 backgrounds, I did 2 at a time to try out the different stamp combos. Last week was a more elegant layout. This week features rainbows colors. Both are beautiful in their own way!
To start, I used my stamp platform to stamp around the outside of a 12×12 piece of white cardstock. I use Sweet Tooth cardstock from Cardstock Warehouse because it’s smooth and takes ink really well. I used black Stazon Ink and just repeated the pattern of stamping on each side of the cardstock. Then I used my cheap watercolors from Michaels to color in the flowers. I love how it brought out the flowers!
While painting, I dropped my brush in the middle of the page (horror). So I had to come up with a way to cover the pink smear up. I used some Color Fresh paper from Heidi Swapp and created a rainbow border. I then used more of the white cardstock to build the rest of my layout on. The inside square is cut to 8×8. I used some more of the border stamps and grey ink to create some more florals. In the corners, I angled one of the stamps to only get the floral part of the stamp. I then watercolored these as well.
To finish it off, I added a doily and a pre-made title from Dear Lizzy. I felt that it was still missing something so I added some Lynnea Rainbow flat back gems around the page. That really did the trick!
I created a process video for this layout and uploaded it to YouTube if you are interested in a more step-by-step walk through of the layout.
