Hello,
Today I’m excited to share a card using the Ink Road Stamps Lit set, and the DIY Window Stitched die that I designed. We are going to use these products to make a shaker card. Let’s get started.
First, I lined up my Lacey DIY Window Stitched die on a piece of The Stamp Market Color Crush paper. It is so easy to line these dies up together and run through a die cutting machine.
Next, I cut a piece of white card stock to the same size as the rainbow piece (4.25″ w x 5.5″ h). I lined this up behind the rainbow piece and traced out the squares. This way I know where to place my stamps.
Then I stamped my images from the “Lit” stamp set onto the white card stock. I used the candles and a phrase, which I placed in the middle square.
Using Catherine Pooler Inks that match the rainbow paper, I added color to the candles.
Now it’s time to create the shaker element. I used acetate behind the two end squares. This will prevent the pieces from shaking out.
I then added two layers of foam tape to the back of the rainbow piece. Adding two layers, gives you more room to shake the sequins. Also, I prepped the two shaker squares with anti-static powder, so it doesn’t get stuck to the tape edges. I did this before I pulled off the release paper and added the sequins.
Next, I pulled off the release paper and adhered it to the stamped white card stock piece.
I finished off the card by stamping “Happy Birthday” on the inside and adding a strip of rainbow paper.
This card was so much fun to create and I can’t wait to give it away to brighten someone’s birthday! Thanks for joining me today!! I hope you all have a safe and great 4th of July (if you live in the USA).
Lacey Gasper
