Hello Roadies! Today I’m sharing this cheeky gold & black card using the Mug Life set. This is one of my all time favorite sets from Ink Road! It has so many fun coffee mugs with different saying you can stamp in them…and it’s CHEEKY! I started off with black card stock cut to 4.25″ x 5.5″. I prepped the entire panel with anti-static powder. I used two stamps from the Mug Life stamp set to create the background. I used the small bow is from the Thank You set to fill in the empty space. I started off by stamping the largest images first, and then filling in with the small bow. I covered it with fine detail gold embossing powder, tapped of the excess, and then heat set with my heat tool.
I stamped the cheeky sentiment frappe cup using the same fine detail embossing powder. I didn’t know if I wanted the cup on white or black card stock so I embossed on both. It’s always good to have options! 😉
I decided to use the black frappe cup. I cut a circle out of white and gold card stock using circle die. The circle will serve as a back drop for my sassy frappe and help it to stand out against the dark background. I also cut a strip of vellum and heat embossed a sentiment using the same fine detail gold embossing powder.
I glued down the circle die cut and a polka dot strip of patterned paper onto my card base using liquid adhesive. I added small dots of matte adhesive to the back of the vellum where the letters are to hide the glue then adhered it onto my card and folded the edge over to the back. I then mounted it onto a white A2 sized card base.
I used foam squares to glue down my coffee cup and add dimension. To finish it off this card I added 5 small gold sequins and added sparkle to the coffee mugs with a liquid shimmer pen.
Alright roadies, this card is done! I hope you like it! I tried to keep it CAS but, more is more for me with card making so it’s hard for me! LOL. See you next time!-Lorena
