Welcome Back! Samantha here – sharing my second card for this month. With Christmas fast approaching I wanted my November projects to all be Christmas themed. I also wanted to challenge myself a little and use a few non themed Christmas Ink Road Stamp sets. If you missed my first blog post you can check it out – here. Today’s card is a Christmas tree using the stamp set Bloom Where You Are Planted.
This tree turned out better then I had thought it would. It’s the perfect tree for those who celebrate Christmas in the warmer weather and I purposely used blues, purples and yellow (which are far from your traditional Christmas colours) to try something a little different and more of a summer palette.
I first stamped the sentiment (which is a mix of stamp sets Fir Real and Bloom Where You Are Planted), pot and flowers alternating ink colours onto my card front. I also stamped and fussy cut a few extra flowers, pot and heart. Before I adhered these onto my card front I machine stitched lines. I then used foam tape and adhere the extra stamped/fussy cut bits on top of the already stamped flowers to create a little bit of dimension and make the flowers really pop. I embellished the card with sequins and a twine bow and adhered my card front to a C6 card base.
Is this your kind of Christmas tree? I ended up making a few of these cards and will be using them this year as my Christmas cards. It’s perfect for my Australian Summer celebrated Christmas and the colours make me very happy!
Have a great week!
