Special, Lovely, The Best! This is a card made for a beautiful friend of mine! Hello Samantha here. All month I’ve been sharing cards to showcase a floral theme using Ink Road Stamps. Bloom Where You Are Planted is one of my favourite stamps but!… DID YOU KNOW? There is a cut file available! I don’t also get a chance to use my silhouette machine – but I do love that it gives me the option to make cards like this!
This card took quite a bit of time to make – but well worth it! I used the cut file to create first the outline of the flower in white. I made this as big as I could to fit a 6×8 card base. I adhered the flower outline to a dark grey card front. I then had to cut the file 5-6 times using pattern paper or plain coloured cardstock. These were to fill in the negative spaces in the flower and leaves. Be sure not to loose any pieces – you could (time permitted) get the most of all the negatives and create several of the same card.
I did add machine stitching to the flower but found this quite difficult as the lines are quite narrow (even with the large 6×8 card size). If you were using this idea on a scrapbook page I would definitely make the flower bigger!
The sentiments was stamped with grey ink, cut out and adhered to my card front with foam tape. I embellished the card with some Ink Road Stamp Gems and a twine bow.
I love that I can create massive flowers like this with cut files to make as a focal point on my cards. It’s even more perfect that there is a stamp set to co-ordinate with it for adding the perfect sentiment!
