Hello! Like I mentioned in my last post this month, my projects are themed around books. Today I will be sharing a travelers notebook spread that took a little creative thinking and a lot of Ink Road Stamps! Let’s just say I used 15 Ink Road Stamp sets were used on this TN spread. Is that a record?
First, I started with a piece of Bristol Smooth Cardstock at 8.25″ h x 8.5″ w, drawing a line down the center so I know where to trim this apart when the layout is complete.
Then with a ruler, I randomly drew lines at different heights and widths apart. These are my books.
Using Ink Road Stamps, I created the spines of the books. This was a fun process trying to find sentiments and images that would make interesting book titles. This is the portion of the layout where I used 13 Stamp sets.
Now it was time to add color. This part took me awhile, because I didn’t want to screw up. I settled on using Altenew’s watercolor pan set, since the colors already coordinated and I didn’t have to think too much about mixing colors from the palette to create a color scheme.
Next, I stamped out the title of the layout “Book” from the Daisy Alpha. I heat embossed these with clear embossing powder and painted them in with the Altenew watercolors to coordinate with the books. I then cut these out with a scissors.
With a ruler and my “Book” portion of the title loosely placed on the page, I mapped out where I would stamp the word “Nerd”.
I stamped “Nerd” using the Block Party Alpha and Catherine Pooler Midnight Ink. To add a little more interest to the background, I splattered on some of the colors I used in the colors of “Book”.
Finally, I foam mounted my photo and the word “Book” to the spread.
Cutting the layout in half I added this to my travelers notebook.
There you have it! I loved making this layout! I encourage you to try something similar and mix and match your stamp sets.
Have a great day! #createfreely
