Hello everyone,
My name is Angela Tombari and I’m pretty excited to be with you today with my very first project for The Ink Road Stamps. I’m sharing with you a fun project using the fun Mug Life stamp set. I made two bookmarks for my two teens, hoping to tempt them to read more 😉
The coffee cup with the banner is absolutely my preferred stamp ever, I just couldn’t stop laughing when I first saw it! So, I decided to use it for my bookmarks.
I stamped it on watercolor paper and colored with my Zig watercolor brushes.
I fussy cut the first coffee cup and adhered it on the white bookmark, approximately in the center. For a sparkling effect, I added a thin layer of glitter on to the cream, using the transparent Wink of Stella brush. Then, IÂ stamped a sentiment from the same Mug Life set and embossed it with black embossing powder.
TIP: to keep the bookmark flat, I would suggest to add just paper decorations and everything thin, like I did here with a few paper confetti.
The second bookmark is in black and has a few different details.
I stamped another cup fussy cut the banner only. Then, I adhered it right on top of the banner of the full stamped cup with foam tape, for a 3D effect. Moreover, I added a coat of Glossy Accent on the cream.
Last difference, the sentiment is white embossed and the bookmark is rounded by a faux stitch made with a white gel pen.
For the bookmarks I chose a tag shape, a very long tag! They are both 2,5 inches wide and 7,5 inches long.
As a finishing touch, I added a string with a few pompons to one bookmark and a tassel to the other.
Below you can see the fun effect achieved with the tag-bookmark 🙂
I don’t know if my sons are going to read more but they do like the bookmarks a lot. I hope you enjoyed this fun project too.
Thanks for stopping by and I’ll see you soon.
Love,
NG
