Hello and Welcome! Samantha here sharing my first project for March! Each month I’ve been challenging myself through themes. Last month I created Clean and Simple cards, and this month I’ve chosen a Floral/Spring theme. I’ve found that this is a great way to use stamp sets that haven’t been used yet. Ink Road stamps has a few floral stamp sets – Chin up Buttercup is one set that I’ve had in my IRS stash that I haven’t used yet…so with this theme I decided to finally make a card with it!
Here is what I came up with.
I first started by stamping the sentiment to the center of my card front (5 inches x 7 inches). I love using my sewing machine to add texture to my cards – so I machine stitched 5 lines, avoiding the sentiment. I then stamped the flowers on cardstock and pattern paper. If you have a electric cutting machine (e.g Silhouette Cameo) you can save some time by using the cut file available – here. Otherwise, grab your sharp scissors and fussy cut around each flower.
I added the flowers to my card front using foam tape and finished the card off with sequins and a twine bow. The card front was then adhered to a side folding card base.
I’m rather pleased at how this card turned out and I’m glad that in choosing a floral theme I’ve managed to use a stamp set that I probably wouldn’t have used. BONUS! I now have a ‘feel better’ card in my stash too!
Feel free to play along with my theme this month – tag me on the ROADIES Facebook Group!
Happy Crafting!
