Sharing a card today featuring one of my favourite things – Coffee! I made this card using the adorable BASICS: Floral Coffee Mug Stamp & Die set, Mug Life Background and INKED. Lani for the sentiment.
First of all, I lined up a piece of white cardstock in my stamp platform with the Mug Life background stamp set. Use Versamark Embossing Ink on the stamp and repeat until you have even coverage. Heat emboss with white embossing powder.
Take the intricate die from the stamp & die set and die cut from the centre of your heat embossed piece. Die cut the cup again from a piece of black cardstock (I like to add some wide double sided tape to the back of this piece to make it easier to adhere later)
On your background piece, ink blend a colour of ink, starting at the top and working your way down the paper. Place more pressure at the top of the piece and lighten the touch as you work your way down. Remove any excess ink from the embossed areas with a paper towel. Ink another piece of white cardstock with the same colour of ink and put aside.
Now time to add the shaker element! Cut a piece of acetate and adhere it to the back of your background piece to cover the die cut hole. Add some foam tape all around the outside of the window area, ensuring there are no gaps. Pour some sequins into the shaker, and add the coloured piece from the previous step to keep the sequins in. Inset and adhere the black die cut cup back into the front of the card.
Time to assemble the rest of the card! Stamp your sentiment onto a strip of white cardstock and adhere onto a piece of black cardstock, leaving a slight border at the top and bottom. Adhere to your background piece. Attach the background piece onto a piece of black cardstock and then onto your card base. Add some clear bubbles for some added dimension to complete the card.
I hope you enjoyed this fun card, for that coffee loving friend in your life!
Till next time,
