We all have someone in our life that loves coffee and Christmas is right around the corner, so lets combine the two for a coffee lover’s Christmas wreath!
I started this card with a 4″ square piece of bristol smooth paper. I used my Gina K wreath builder stencil and a stamp positioning tool to stamp the regular coffee mug from Mug Life around a circle. I made sure to use a waterproof ink so it doesn’t bleed when I move onto the next step.
To color the wreath behind the coffee mugs I scribbled Arteza real brush pens onto my glass mat. I picked them up with a wet paintbrush and loosely painted the ink around the mugs. I painted several layers, letting it dry in between, to get a textured watercolor look.
To color the mugs I went direct to paper with the marker, then blended the color out with a wet paint brush. This is a more concentrated color which makes the mugs stand out against the background, even though they used the same markers.
To add some greenery to the wreath I used the small leaf image from #beautifulmess. I colored the stamp with the markers and spritzed it with water to continue the watercolor look. Using Candied Apple Distress Oxide I stamped a sentiment in the middle of the wreath and circles to be berries.
I added the panel to a 4.25″ square note card. I added Stickles in the color Joyful on top of the red berries for some sparkle, and a red bow from Sherry Bows beneath the sentiment.
I hope you all have a wonderful holiday and get to enjoy some time with family and friends.
