Hey crafty friends! Colourful cards are my THING. I can find colour inspiration in all kinds of places. How do YOU come up with colour combinations for your projects? I like to go to crafting card challenges for pre-made combos and am even inspired by popular products or advertisements. Sometimes it is the pattern or image on a piece of clothing my kids are wearing! Some of my favorite places to find a great palette are sites like Color Palette or Design Seeds. Browse through for awhile– you won’t be disappointed AND you’ll have a handful of ideas for your next card or layout!
Here is the palette I used for my cards today!
Color Palette is where I found the inspiration for my cards today. I used cardstock, dye ink and Copic markers to pull in all the colours I needed. You can see that I chose a darker, more burgundy-ish purple and less saturated colours than what the inspiration showed. Don’t be afraid to tweak it to your own liking!
My first A2 card uses the beautiful floral strips from Days_e Phrases to sandwich a gold embossed sentiment from Golden Friends. The florals were stamped in black dye ink and coloured with Copic markers. I carefully added some Deco-Foil liquid adhesive to some of the leaves and once it was dry, rubbed on green foil to give the images a little shine. The panel was trimmed and adhered using foam tape over top of cardstock strips that are glued right on the card base.
My second card is also A2 and was easy to put together. I stamped “The world is…with you in it” from Days_e Phrases in black ink on a white cardstock panel. Then I stamped and heat embossed the motivational sayings on multiple colours of cardstock, trimmed them and adhered between the bigger sentiments. The panel is glued to a soft purple card base.
Interesting colours? I thought they were unique. What are your favourite colour combinations?
