Home Design TeamCards Crafty Galentine’s Day Card

Hello Roadies! Did you know that February 13 is Galentine’s Day? So in honor of the day I have a Galentine card to share. I used Modern Romance and the super adorable Holly Pixels Background for this card.I started off with pink card stock cut to 4.25″ x 5.5″. I planed to do some embossing so I prepped the card stock using anti-static powder. I used the lovely  Holly Pixels Art Supplies Background stamp and layed it stamping side up on my glass mat.

I inked it up using clear embossing ink and then laid the pink card stock down and pressed the entire panel to get a nice impression. I coated it using fine detail gold embossing powder. I tapped off any excess powder and used a small dry brush to brush away any powder on unwanted areas and heat set.

Once the embossing was cooled off I trimmed the panel down on each side. I pulled out a pink and red ink for some ink blending. I started off with the lighter color, starting from the edges are working my way in. I then used the red to darken the edges, blending in towards the center. I left the center the original color of the card stock. This creates a nice glowing effect which will highlight my sentiment nicely.

I stamped a sentiment from the Modern Romance set onto some black card stock. I love this sentiment, it’s absolutely perfect for crafty friends. I made sure to prep my card stock well with anti-static before stamping.

I kept this card clean and simple. I adhered the pink panel flat onto a black A2 sized card base. I popped up the sentiment up using some black fun foam and sprinkled in some super cool clear matte sequins. I really like the way this turned out. It’s simple but packs a punch with the bright gold embossing paired with the ink blending.

For the inside of the card I used the same ink blending technique on pink card stock. I heat embossed Happy Galentine’s Day using the same fine detail gold embossing powder. I decided to use the gorgeous pink floral washi to tape the panel onto the inside of my card. I thought this would be a nice touch to tie in the sentiment from the front of the card.

I hope you liked this CAS card, I’m sent it to one of the Roadies from the Facebook mailing list! I hope she likes it! Thanks for stopping by! XO-Lorena
