Hello everyone and thank you for joining me for a 12×12 layout featuring the Compliments Vol 1Compiments Vol. 2! Today’s layout is an approach I am not used to, leaving white space!!  Hello everyone and thank you for joining me for a 12x12 layout featuring the Compliments Vol 1 & 2! Todays layout is an approach I am not used to, leaving white space!!

I began with a piece of white card stock, trimmed down 1/4″ on each side. I matted it with a piece of black card stock, and this will be the base of my layout. I chose a few colors of mist’s, based on my photo, and added just a small amount of splatter. While I waited for the splatter to dry, I began to work with my photos. Each photo is matted 3 times with black and white card stock. I went through my scrap bin and find several strips of pattern paper to compliment the colors in my picture and created a sort of photo mat under each of the matted photos, After the strips were all adhered, I backed the entire photo on another piece of black card stock to make the colors really pop.

I wanted to keep the embellishments to a minimum, so I chose to use the Compliments Vol. 1 and Compliments Vol. 2 stamp sets to create a title/embellishment cluster in the top right of my layout. Using Versa-mark, I stamped each of the chosen sentiments on a black piece of card stock, and embossed them with fine detail white embossing powder. For the #Gorgeous and You Are Ten Kinds Of Wonderful pieces, I trimmed them down and backed them with vellum to give a bit of texture and interest. You Are Crazy Beautiful was trimmed down and backed 2 times, with white and black card stock. Using foam tape, I added the title pieces to the layout. A few clear sequins and my layout was complete. Using great restraint, I DIDN’T add anything else! featuring the Compliments Vol 1 & 2! Todays layout is an approach I am not used to, leaving white space!!

This simplistic layout really let the photos and stamped pieces shine but still has the sparkle and interest I love on a page! I challenge you to create a white space heavy layout and be sure to share it in The Ink Road facebook group, we love to see your creations with these amazing stamps!!  Have a fantastic day!! xo
