My favorite part about the paper crafting community is all of the kindness! For this card I combined the Born To Create Banner stamp with Block Party Alpha Outline to create the sentiment “Born To Create Kindness”.
I started by white heat embossing Kindness, split onto two lines, onto a navy banner. To be able to stamp the entire word at one time I used both Block Party Alpha Outline and Block Party Alpha Outline-Extras. These extra letters made it super easy to line everything up at once! I painted in the letters with yellow gold (903) metallic watercolor from my Gansai Tambai Starry Colors set.
For the background I used the top stamp from the Bella Flora Borders set to make a floral striped background. I couldn’t decide what color of ink to use, so I stamped it in both pink and grey so I could see which looked best. To tone down the intensity of the color and make it fade more into the background I used white pigment ink to sponge over the entire backgrounds.
Next I created my focal image using Born To Create Banner. I stamped it in Versafine onyx black onto bristol smooth cardstock and clear heat embossed on top. I smooshed ink pads onto my glass mat and picked it up with a wet paintbrush for a watercolor effect. I used the same Gansai Tambi yellow gold (903) metallic watercolor to paint the metal elements such as the scissors and paint brush ferule. I added highlights with a white gel pen.
At this point in the process tragedy struck, I smeared white pigment ink all over the bottom of my navy kindness banner! In an attempt to salvage this card I decided to chop off the bottom. Instead of the original plan of an A2 4.25 X 5.5″ card I am now creating a square 4.25″ card. Good save right?!
When assembling the card I used the round part of my pen to roll up the ends of the kindness banner for dimension. I adhered the Born To Create banner with foam tape, and embellished with Gina clear bubbles.
I hope you find an opportunity to create some kindness today!
