Hey everyone! It’s Kira and I am back with a travelers notebook layout today. I have been on a bit of a TN kick lately, and one of my favorite things to do is scraplift elements from previous full size spreads and make them work for a travelers notebook layout.
The layout I made today takes pieces from a few of my past layouts, but the main element I focused on today, was the wreath design. If you’ve been following for any period of time, you may remember this layout that I made about a year ago. I was so obsessed with how the wreath came out, that I was dying to try it a second time.
I wanted to make the wreath small enough to fit on one side of the spread, so I grabbed a small bowl from my craft table and traced around it with a pencil very lightly. Then I chose my color palette. I have these two photos of my youngest son hiding from me vacuuming one day and they have hints of yellow, teal, grey-blue and pink, so I knew I wanted to bring those colors in. I grabbed a few papers that I thought would work well, which led me to choose a green and more vibrant pink as well.
I started stamping my wreath using the small leaf stamp from #beautifulmess, and gradually built up my layers around the circle I had drawn. For the flowers (in pink), I used the rose stamps from Majestic AF.
Once I had completed the wreath, I knew I wanted to add a title in the center. I just happened to have Chin Up Buttercup sitting on my desk next to me and it just happened to be the perfect size and fit the layout to a tee, it was kismet. I added a few other embellishments around the page, along with a line of journaling and my date, and called this layout complete!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
