I love no line coloring, so I gave myself the challenge to no line color Ink Road’s DAYS-E Bouquet image. It started out as a card, but after I put a ton of time into the coloring I couldn’t part with it, so I framed it for a fall decoration!
I started by stamping DAYS-E Bouquet onto bristol smooth paper using Gina K Amalgam ink in Barely There. I chose deeper warm colors to give it the feeling of a fall bouquet. I colored using Arteza real brush pens, laying the darker color down first and pulling that out with my lighter marker.
When no line coloring I often get confused by the small super light lines, so here is my trick to make things easier! I take all of the stamps off of the stamp sheet. I lay the transparency on top of what I am coloring to make sense of all the lines. Sometime I even make a washi tape hinge at the top so I can flip the transparency back and forth easily as I color.
Here are the Arteza real brush pen colors I used, with the darker color in the combination listed first.
Red flower and berries: Autumn Red + red
Deep pink flowers: Rosewood + Fuschia
Orange flower: Orange Rust + Honey
Light orange little flowers: Sunset + Light Skin
Green leaves and stems: Olive Green + Green Tea
Light brown leaves: Ginger + Pale Skin
Brown bow: Coffee + Tawny + Ginger
Dark brown berry stems: Coffee
As a finishing touch I added metallic gold accents using Gansai Tambi Starry Colors in 902 red gold. I painted thin lines in the middle of the large flowers, dots in the middle of the small flowers, and a dot on the end of each berry.
