Today’s cards are featuring the stamp set: Compliments Vol.1. I wanted to do something different with this stamp set and since it’s a ‘feature’ I really wanted to make each sentiment a main focal point. How does one create a card with just a sentiment??
Originally I was going to use a stencil to create my background but I ended up doing a resist technique using embossing powder. I took one sentiment stamp and heat embossed it in white to create my background. I then picked a few distress inks colours that worked well together. I applied some ink to my craft mat sprayed it with water and applied the colour to the card base.
The embossed sentiment resisted the ink. Once dry, I used my sewing machine to add a little extra interest to the card – just one big squiggly circle/line. I finished the card by heat embossing (in white) the sentiment on black card and used a few small shape dies – diamond, heart, & butterfly to embellish the card along with some sequins and black twine.
You’ll notice that I left one stamp set out – I did this on purpose as I plan on using this for another project!
Happy Crafting!

When I first saw this sentiment from the Compliments Vol. 1 stamp set I knew I just had to pair it with an image from the Meow Mix stamp set! They go perfectly together because cats are definitely little princesses and we are their subjects!

I thought the Compliments Volume 1 stamp set would be perfect for a scrapbook page about a special person I just adore – my son! I picked some of my very favorite photos of him to highlight with compliments of his baby beauty.
I am loving bright embossing on a dark background right now, so I used orange embossing ink and powder to stamp the sentiments on gray cardstock to keep with my masculine color scheme.
