Well, hello again crafty people! This is Ashlea and I’m showing off a simply #gorgeous card featuring tons of dimension. The Bloom Where You Are Planted stamp set is so beautiful on its own that it really doesn’t need much help when designing a card with it. This is the exact reason I decided to keep this one super simple with pops of interest. Here’s what I did:
I love white space on a card. It’s just my personal preference to keep lots of white space so that my designs appear clean and simple. Sometimes, though, white space needs a little help. I knew I wanted to feature three of the plant pots on this card but because the images on this card are fairly small, I knew I’d need to spruce up the card stock a bit to make it appear fuller. One of my favorite ways to do this is to score the card front all the way down the card and thats what I did here, every half inch. I love the interest this brings to the design without taking anything away from the simplicity of it.
For the pots and flowers I stamped each image individually and fussy cut each one out. I used a combination of Catherine Pooler inks for this as they are my favorite formula dye inks and colors. I arranged each pot with a couple leaves and/or flowers and glued them together so I had three full flower pots. I used foam tape to adhere them to the upper center portion of the card front and used gold embossing powder to emboss the #GORGEOUS sentiment from the Compliments Volume #2 stamp set. (Also, I may have hummed the Taylor Swift song for the rest of the day. Probably.)
I love that dimension is shown on this card in so many different ways. The scored card front, the flower pots adhered with foam tape, and the embossing sentiment all fit cohesively in with a clean and simple design while really adding interest and beauty to the piece. Thank you SO much for stopping by! I will see you very soon!
