For this card, I first started with a piece of white cardstock, and blended a little Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide onto the background. I lightened my touch as I worked down the piece of cardstock, to have a nice gradient effect. After that, I used the same colour of ink and blended through a stripe stencil to create a pretty and subtle effect. On a separate strip of white cardstock, blend this ink to completely cover it.
Colour in your sweet hedgehogs with the colouring medium of your choice. I used Copic markers to colour mine (I used the range of E50s to colour the hedgehogs).
Stamp the sentiment from Compliments Vol 2 onto a strip of white cardstock with black ink. Heat emboss this with clear embossing powder to create a glossy effect.
Time to assemble the card! Adhere your stripe background piece onto a piece of black cardstock. Foam mount your 3 hedgehog images onto the card. Add your blue strip of cardstock to the bottom, and add the sentiment strip on top. To finish the card, adhere the full background piece onto your base card and add some clear sequins.
I hope you have enjoyed this tutorial. It really is a simple technique to use stencils with the same background colour ink, but looks so effective! As always, use ASHLEIGH10 at the checkout to save 10% off your purchase.
