Home Stamp SetsBELLA FLORA Hello Gorgeous Card

Hello, crafty friends and welcome back! Laurie here to share a card that is a bit on the unusual side!  I really wanted to showcase the Hello Gorgeous Dies so I decided to make a larger than normal card. I typically make A2 sized cards which are 5.5 X 4.25 inches or 4 bar cards which are 5 X 3.75 inches. I don’t even think this size has a “class” but I know it fits in your standard sized, business envelope which are 4 1/8 X 9.5 inches.

This was a super fun card to make! Lots of die cutting and some easy watercolour.  I started by die cutting 5 of the floral/leaf  dies from Strathmore Mixed Media paper.  And because I recently got some new Distress Oxide colours, I just had to use them!

Hello Gorgeous

I used Spun Sugar, Crushed Olive and Dusty Concord for the colouring. You can’t really call it colouring, more like slapping down colour :).  The finished card measures 3 X 9 inches so I trimmed down a piece of white cardstock that measures 2.5 X 8.5 inches to create a layer. To add colour and dimension, I used the scallop image from the Between the Lines Stamp Set along with the Spun Sugar ink. I wasn’t concerned with getting perfect stamping.

After that stamped layer was adhered to the card base, it was just a matter of adhering all the flower die cuts.  I tried to make it look random. I popped some up and left some flat which gave an interesting appearance.  I also cut bits and pieces off some of the dies to fill in any empty spots.

I wanted a lot of contrast with the sentiment, so I chose stark, black cardstock to cut the word “hello” I also cut this out of craft foam for the added dimension!  The “#gorgeous” sentiment comes from the Compliments Volume 2 Stamp Set. I simply stamped that in black ink onto white cardstock and trimmed it out.

That sentiment was screaming for some sparkle so I added quite a bit of clear sparkle overlay pen.  The only other embellishments I added were some sparkling clear sequins.  Not one bit of Glossy Accents on this card…that’s super rare for me!!

The Hello Gorgeous Dies are so beautiful and as you can see work so well on their own!! I know this set is going to become a staple in my ever growing Ink Road collection!!

Thank you so much for stopping in today!!  Have a great week!!
