Welcome back Roadies! It’s Neftalí with you today sharing a super quick mixed Media without all the mixing. That’s right, I’m sharing with you some super easy tips to get the look of a mixed media background without all the scary steps.
Some people don’t feel to compelled to create mixed media layouts because most of the time you’re looking at the end project and there’s no telling how the crafter got there… at least, that’s how I feel. However, I’ve learned some easy steps that can help you get that look and it’s not at all scary. You just gotta let it flow, and love the imperfections.
This is the layout I created using two simple techniques: heat embossing and “the packaging technique.”
I started off by using the “Between The Lines” stamp set and stamped randomly across my page using white pigment ink, and adding some white embossing powder. This created a very nice textured background on my page.
To give the simplest “mixed media” look, I grabbed some plastic packaging and sprayed some blue mist on it. Then I took my packaging, crumpled it up a bit and then touched it lightly all around my page. It created a very textured color to my page. And let me remind you, not perfect at all!
I then grabbed a wipe and rubbed off some of the ink to let the embossed lines show through.
Finally, I added my photograph and layered embellishments to bring my layout to life.
I used the Hello Gorgeous Dies to create my title above. I love the pop of blue all over my page. And, we’ll, I love to pretty up my face on paper, but the blue gave it some fun interest because I’m used to using pink most of the time.
The final touch was to add some pink and gold mist around the areas I want more interest.
And that, my friends, is how you can create a “mixed media” layout without all the mixings.
I hope you are feeling inspired to use your Ink Road Stamps to create a fun yet simple “mixed media” project. And if you do, come by our Facebook group to share your beautiful creations. We always love seeing how you work these gorgeous stamps.
Thanks for stopping by! I’ll be back very soon with more fun scrappy inspiration for you all. Xo
