Hello everyone! Today’s layout is inspired by the Earresistible stamp set. Four years ago we went to Disney World. We had a great time but I have scrapped very few of the photos. I find them overwhelming and intimidating to scrap. As soon as I saw these stamps, I was completely inspired! I had many ideas and decided to start with this one.
First, I created the background. I used the 2 different ear headbands and Momento London Fog to repeat stamp all over the background. This took a bit of time but I am so happy with how it came out. I used my stamp platform so that I could re-stamp to make the images crisp.
There were some gaps in the stamping so I decided to use the bow stamp to fill them in. I was considering using red ink for this stamp but decided to heat emboss it instead. I used Versamark ink and platinum WOW! embossing powder to stamp the bow in all the gaps. The shiny embossing added a lot of dimension and depth to the background.
Next, I worked on the large elements of the page. I chose to make 2 Mickey Mouse glove out of white cardstock and backed with black yardstick to create the shadow. I stitched with white embroidery floss around the gloves to give them some dimension. I wanted to make it look like the gloves were juggling the photos.
The photos are of various characters we saw during one of the parades. They are printed at about 1.5×1.5 inches because they aren’t great quality and I could fit multiple photos on the page. I chose to back each photo with a thin mat of cardstock in a rainbow design. Rainbow is always one of my go to color combos and with all the colors in the photos I felt it would work perfectly here.
To finish the layout, I added a set of Mickey Mouse ears to the top. I did some stitching around them to make them pop. Then I added my title and called it good!
