Amazing news everyone! If you haven’t already heard Ink Road Stamps and SpiegelMom Scraps teamed up to put together a wonderful Mermaid Bundle that includes an exclusive sequin mix and 2 mer-mazing stamp sets! These are the perfect way to finish up the many summer pool photos you may have!
The first thing I did was get stamping! Starting with the Between The Lines stamp set I created some waves on my background. 3 blue colors of Archival Ink created an interesting color on each set of waves. Then I stamped out multiples of each image from the mermaid set on a scratch piece of white cardstock using Archival Jet Black Ink. I knew that I was going to want to watercolor or paint on these. Once that was finished, I used my Pixscan mat and Silhouette Portrait to cut out each of the images. This is the perfect solution for those of us that hate fussy cutting! It is a simple process and works beautifully to create my own die cut images used the fabulous stamps Lara creates!
Next came the fun part! To start, I painted each of the images using fun colors and mixing them up so that each mermaid looked unique. I pulled out some gold acrylic paint for their hair to match my daughters hair color. I used some Prima Watercolors to color in the florals that came from the Chin Up Buttercup stamp set. These are some of my favorite florals to use on layouts! They fit any occasion. I added some splashes of color to the background using different colors of blue and teal.
Finally, I assembled the layout. I chose a watercolor patterned paper to mat my layout on as well as my photo. I also used some light purple cardstock behind my photo to tie in the purple I used for the mermaids. Then I placed all of my stamped embellishments around the photo. All that was left was adding the stunning sequins and flat backed bubbles around the page for added sparkle. I also used some sequins to fill in the heart for my title to make it stand out more.
