Happy Thursday everybody! I am super excited to share a really fun summer layout with you today. I am just a little bummed that summer is over and fall is rapidly approaching so I decided I needed a little throwback to bright, fun summer colors and adventures.
My photo today is featuring some fruit kabobs that my son created to go to a Boy Scout BBQ but this layout idea would be perfect for any ice cream, summer fruit, fun pool party or pool float pictures too!
I started out knowing that I wanted to use a plain white background because my stamping was going to be so bright and busy. I added a thin black and white stripe border of my all-time favorite patterned around the outside to ground the layout. Then, I used the colors in my patterned paper strips along the bottom of the layout to help me choose coordinating ink pad colors.
This super fun stamp set is called This Stamp is Bananas and it gave me so many options for creating fun stamped fruit. I got to work stamping and then fussy cut each of my pieces of fruit. I layered up all of those pieces underneath the top and side edges of my photo. (*Quick Tip: Putting my photo on a black photo mat and then on some fun foam dimensional adhesive allowed for the photo to stand out above those bright, fun stamped images and not get lost).
I added just a few enamel dots and text embellishments in three different areas of my layout and it was complete. Make sure to stop by and check out my process video over on my YT channel for a really fun washi tape trick that I used on this layout!
Until next time, I hope to see you create a fruit explosion in efforts to maintain just a little piece of summer for a bit longer. Make sure to tag me if you use this stamp set this week so I can check out what you create!
