Hello! Did I get your attention? Today is my birthday. It is my last year in my 30s (that is so weird to say!). Though today’s card is not a birthday card (I’m saving that for next week), I can’t wait to share today’s creation. So let’s begin.
I started today’s card by stamping the Art Supplies Background on a piece of white card stock.
Next I smooshed inks on a piece of acetate and squished it on the stamped background. I love this technique as you never know what you will get.
Using a mini slimline die, I cut the background in a section I liked.
I adhered this to the mini slimline card base and started working on the main elements of the card.
Using the Art Supplies stamp set, I stamped the paint tube, ink container and paint brush. I colored these in using the same inks I used to smoosh the color on the background. With my scissors, I cut these colored pieces out.
At this point I realized I needed the images to POP, so I cut a piece of vellum with another size of the mini slimline die. I adhered my colored pieces onto the vellum, as well as my title. The title was stamped on black card stock and white heat embossed.
Since you can see adhesive through vellum, the pieces I layered on top allowed me to easily add adhesive to the backside.
I love how this turned out and how the colors worked together. Mini slimline has become a fast favorite card size for me as well. If you haven’t tried it, the measurements are 3.5″ wide x 6″ high (folded), your paper prior to folding is 7″ wide x 6″ high.
