Hey everyone! It’s Kira again and I am back with a CARD!!! Can you believe it?! I have been playing around with card making lately and having a lot of fun. I am nowhere near as talented as my cardmaking cohorts on the design team…but I aspire to be just like them one day, don’t you?!
This card started out as Copic marker practice (see my previous post to check out my first layout using my new markers!). I am obsessed with the new Inked subscription (have you signed up yet?!). I mean, how stinking cute is Katya?! I can’t wait to see the cute stamps in the coming months. But Katya is basically me…like 15 years ago. Lol. “Reading” while no doubt texting her friends, getting essentially nothing done. Also, a cool beverage close at hand. Mmmm, those were the days. Ice doesn’t bode well in my drinks anymore, with two toddlers to chase around, it would be watered down by the time I had a chance to take a sip.
Anyway, I colored Katya as a “20 year old Kira”. Lol. She has my porcelain skin and brunette hair and I couldn’t resist putting her in a cute pink ombre top. I added the smallest lips to her (btw, how cute are the lip options?!) since my lips are definitely pre-filler Kylie Jenner thin.
This version of my girl was actually my second attempt; she turned out cute, so I fussy cut around her. I decided her beverage would be cute cut out and bumped up on some foam (I decided the drink is lemonade, most likely with a little splash of vodka, if this is a 20 something version of myself, lol). So now I’m looking at her thinking she needs a room to relax in. The card was born.
I cut the card base down to 7 1/2″ x 3 3/4″ and made it top folding. I found a scrap piece of wood grain paper and cut a strip to serve as my floor. As a 20 something, I would’ve loved super girly walls, so I found a pink floral paper to serve as my wallpaper. At this point, it looked cute, but I couldn’t help but keep adding more.
I stamped the stack of books from the Stars Hollow set, a plant and pot from Bloom Where you are Planted, and a few frames from The One With All the Stamps. In one of the frames I stamped the heart from Bloom, which fits perfectly.
I created a gallery wall above my girl with a couple of the frames, a sticker frame and a wood grain heart. I added a few stickers to the frames and some to my plant. And then, boom, done!
So card makers, how’d I do?! I can’t wait to see how everyone else uses their Inked stamps!
