Halloween Card-Using Boo Crew

October 2, 2019

It’s October, Yay! I love the holidays and that definitely includes Halloween! I love making Halloween cards to send to friends and family and when I saw the Boo Crew Halloween set I HAD to have it! I love the “Let’s get sheet faced” sentiment, it’s so fun. Let’s get started!

I started with a white piece of card stock cut to 5.25″ x 4″. I used a purple water reactive ink and did some ink blending starting in the center and blending out forming sort of a large oval. Once I was satisfied with my blending I sprinkled water droplets to reactivate the ink and blotted it dry revealing the cool splatter effect. I wanted some purple and black splatter all over my background so I smushed black ink and purple ink on my glass mat and mixed with water and splattered all over my background. I set my background aside to dry and worked on my sentiment and image.

I stamped out the ghost silhouette on white 110lb card stock then stamped the cute smiley from the set to form the face. I did very simple coloring using a light gray alcohol marker and blended out with an ink blender. I added red to the tongue and light pink rosy cheeks. I heat embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder and trimmed it down.

For the inside of the card I did the same style of ink blending and only did water splatter. I stamped the spider garland to match the outside and the “Happy Halloween” sentiment in the center of my ink blending.

To finish off my background I stamped the spider garland across the top left of the card and the #dead on the bottom right. I glued my panels down on a black A4 110lb card base.  I popped up the ghost and sentiment using foam squares. I had to add some sparkle and the Large Flat Gems in Catherine Purple were just perfect! I added a scattering of 6 to finish off the card.
