Samantha here – and I’m sharing my third interactive light em up card for this month! Seriously…there were so many perfect Ink Road Stamp option available for this idea. How could I go pass the stamp set Iconic and the light bulbs! Of course add the Compliments Vol. 2 stamp and it’s brilliant!
Step 1: Stamp the image onto your card front. (Measurements: 10.5cm x 15.5cm)
Step 2: Stamp the image (along with the happy face) onto yellow card stock. Fussy cut.
Step 3: Using a hole punch or a small eyelet tool to punch two holes as shown below onto your card front. Place your card front onto your card base and mark the holes onto your card base. This is to note where you will place your LED lights on the card base.
Step 4: Complete the circuit as shown below. Note: LED placement is where you marked the two holes.
I’m using Pear Blossom Press pack which includes a switch, LEDs and copper tape to create light up cards like this easily.
Step 5: Test that the circuit and LEDs work.
Step 6: Add a thin black strip of cardstock to the card front.
Step 7: Heat embossed the sentiment in white on black card. Trim and adhere to card front.
Optional: Add machine stitching.
Step 8: Embellish with a twine bow and hearts. Adhere card front to card base – matching the holes to the LEDs. Using foam tape adhere the yellow light bulb to the card front.
Once one light bulb was finished I realised it it had too much white space and added an additional light bulb (without the LED light up feature. Here is what it looks like when you press the switch.
Two little cheeks for one brilliant light bulb!
