Today we are introducing one of the scrapbooking masterminds of our team… Ali!
Hi everyone, Ali here!
I’m so excited to be part of such an amazing team of crafters, and especially excited to be working with Ink Road Stamps! A few things about me… I’m a 30 year old stay at home mom of two kiddos who keep me on my toes every day! I have been with my husband for 10 years, married for six. I have a passion for sign language, teaching, and scrapbooking. I have an MA in Teaching and Learning with Technology; one day I would love to put it to good use teaching deaf students. For now, my kids are my most important students!
I love that I have a craft space! Before we bought our house, I had the dining room table and very little storage space. Being able to have my own space in my bedroom is amazing. Also, having a big desk is a must for me. I wouldn’t use half of what I have if it wasn’t visible and within reach! I wish I had pretty matching furniture, but my space right now is purely functional, not pretty. One day I would love to redecorate, for now I will just continue to fill it with pretty supplies!
My first project was prom, 2004. I regret it all. I’m just kidding, but seriously, those adhesive pages, hand cut shapes, and the (hmm?) minimalist design…I have definitely changed as a scrapbooker!
I took a long break from scrapbooking and started again in 2011 when I was pregnant with my son. I always claim to have started scrapping in 2011, but I think I really found my passion for it when I started interacting with other scrapbookers online. Being a part of this community helps drive my passion further.
My current style includes worrying less about what I am doing and just enjoying the process. Some days I like to pile on embellishments, others I prefer a more simplistic approach. I tend to be an “overthinker,” and I find that the pages I love the most come from just having fun. Some of my favorite techniques are creating backgrounds with stamps, embossing for lots of fun texture, and adding stitching (hand or machine).
If you wanna find me online I am @ali.scraps on Instagram and I occasionally update my blog at www.gagedesigns.blogspot.com. You can also add me on Facebook (Ali Scraps), I love meeting new scrapbook friends!
Join me to give Ali a warm welcome! I can’t wait to see the beautiful pages she will create with the Ink Road stamps.
