Do you have any winter weddings or anniversaries? This card would be perfect for those occasions. When first looking at the Bella Flora Borders stamp set most people, including me, see a spring or summer card. I decided to put a romantic wintery spin on it by changing up the colors and adding in some metallics!
I started with a piece of 3.5″ by 7″ navy blue cardstock. I white heat embossed one of the stamps from Bella Flora Borders onto each of the four sides. (I used the fifth stamp from the top) Then I turned the stamp and used little pieces to fill in any blank areas to complete the look I wanted.
I painted in all of the florals with a metallic watercolor set. Any metallic watercolor would work great, but if you’re interested the set I used is Kuretaki Gansai Tambi Starry Colors. For the flowers I used 901 blue gold, for the bigger leaves I used 904 champagne gold, and for the small leaves I used 906 white gold. Look at the way those metallics shine in the light, I’m in love!
To finish off the card I gold heat embossed the happily ever after sentiment, which is also from Bella Flora Borders. After playing around with gems and sequins, I decided to keep the center of the card super simple with just the sentiment.
I hope this card inspires you to look at your summer stamps in a different way and see how you can change them up to work for winter! Thank you so much for coming over to the blog to read about the cards me and the other design team members create, we appreciate you!
