Hi everybody! It’s Khristina and I am super excited to be sharing my very first Ink Road Stamps Design Team project with you. I am SO in love with all of my stamps and had a hard time choosing where to start. I wanted to work on some tropical Disney photos for a recent trip to Aulani so I went searching for the perfect set. One of my favorite 3×4 sets is the Frond of You set that has the most gorgeous palm leaves so I decided to grab that one first.
I pulled out some of my favorite cardstock colors from a collection that I just picked up and matched it up with coordinating ink pads from Altenew. I wanted to get a subtle tone-on-tone look rather than a bold black stamped image. I decided to stamp five of each palm leaf on each color and then got to work fussy cutting them out.
Once they were all cut out, I added a little dimension by bending them down the center. Finally, I got to work assembling the layout. I used my 4×6 photo right in the middle of the page and then created vertical columns of my palm leaves in single colors. I started with the darkest colors on the left side and moved to the lightest colors on the right side. I added a little bit of patterned paper in matching colors to the top and bottom of the layout and then created my title by mixing two different sizes and colors of Thickers. Once this was done, I took a few little glittery accents and inserted them between the palm leaves. I also grabbed some extra number Thickers (one zero and one number eight) and used them to make my own mickey heads to scatter on the layout and really bring in the Disney vibe.
I just love how the little Disney accents and the fun tropical colors really allowed me to document our Disney adventure in paradise! Thanks so much for stopping by today! If you want to see more about this layout and how it came together, please stop by Khristina’s You Tube channel.
