Today I have a simple but fun card using the new The Upside Down stamp set. I wanted to keep this card simple but telling of a certain favorite show of mine, so here’s what I did.
I first placed a piece of painters tape just above the center of my 4″ x 5 1/4″ card front to cut it into a top and bottom portion. For the top portion, I used a cloud stencil and Catherine Pooler Fiesta Blue ink with my new favorite Blendability blending brushes to create a blue sky. Next, I removed the painters tape and placed it over the blue sky to the very edge, and blended Catherine Pooler’s Twilight ink throughout the entire rest of the card front.
I then stamped the bicycle image in Versafine Onyx Black ink onto the blue sky portion and embossed it with clear embossing powder to help it stand out a bit. I stamped the bicycle again exactly underneath the first bicycle only upside down and embossed it in white onto the gray ink blended portion of the card front.
For my sentiment and to drive home “The Upside Down”, I heat embossed “Mouthbreather” onto a black strip of card stock and adhered it to the gray portion of the card upside down.
I love this set and I know a lot of friends who will appreciate cards made with it. I also love that I can use this as a birthday card for a friend or just a hello. Thanks so much for stopping by today! I’ll see you again soon!
