Hey crafty friends! It’s Kira and I am back with an 8.5×11 scrapbook layout using the Boy Mom stamp set. This stamp set is perfect for scrapping my boys, and you’ll definitely see it on multiple layouts of mine!
I knew I wanted to use some mixed media on this layout, so I started with a piece of white cardstock and covered it in clear gesso. Then, while I waited for that to dry, I worked on my layers behind my photo. I chose some yellow, pinks and woodgrain patterns since I knew I wanted to do some bold black accents on the layout. The softer layers helped to balance the black out.
After my gesso was dry, I pierced some holes in a sunburst pattern behind where I planned to place my photo. Then using the small triangle stamp included in Full Circle, I added some triangle accents in black ink. Then I added some mixed media in the area where my photo would lay.
I used black embroidery floss and a backstitch to stitch along the sunburst lines. And then added some machine stitching in black to pull in even more black and texture. I used a phrase stamp as my title, and some additional triangles to draw your eye to the title.
I finished off the page with some more embellishments and a final stamp used on one of the labels, “that’s my boy”.
Thanks for stopping by!
