Hey Roadies, it’s Magy and I’m back with a super simple yet festive slimline card. I’ll be using Typewriter Holiday and a yet to be released Basics Stamp and Die Set.
First, let’s get the base ready. Using bright red cardstock, cut 8×8 and score at 4 inches. You end up with a slimeline card measuring 4×8. Then with some green patterned cardstock cut at 3.75×7. Split the green cardstock. I chose to cut low vertically and used my scissors to eyeball a small curve. Adhered those pieces on white cardstock, creating a one inch white gap.
Next, stamp, color and cut your image. Today I’m using a soon to be released Basics Coffee Cup Stamp and Die Set. After coloring with alcohol markers and die cutting my coffee cup, I cut 3 more cups from scrap paper and stacked them behind my image. I wanted to add dimension to the cup without propping it onto some foam tape. It’s also easier to mail and less likely to bend.
Using the “Nice, Naughty, You Tried” sentiment from Typewriter Holiday, stamp onto the white gap. Adhere the Coffee Cup and add enamel dots to finish. I used red matte drops to create a check mark because hey! we all tried this year of 2020.
I went on to create more holiday slimlines with Typewriter Holiday in the same easy peasy fashion. Turn your card horizontally and use the long sentiments in one piece or keep them vertical and cut into strips.
This set was so much fun to use and will give the recipients a giggle or two. Grab Typewriter Holiday from the shop today using MAGALY10 at checkout. Don’t forget to keep an eye out for that email announcing the release of BASICS Coffee Cup Stamp and Die. See you next time!
